Hernando County Growers Association

Our fundraising event, the Brooksville Bike Rally & Cruise-In is getting a lot of attention and picking up momentum.  We have vendors and sponsors signed up for all eight events (third Sunday of the month, March - June and September - December 2018).

This will be a huge benefit to the Hernando County Growers Association and help to support the Brooksville Farmers Market coming in late March.

Look for updates on the Farmers Market on our Facebook page "Hernando County Growers Association" .

New agricultural co-op forms in Brooksville

The Hernando County Growers Association, a nonprofit agricultural co-operative that recently formed in Brooksville to market locally grown produce, has organized the Brooksville Bike Rally and Cruise-In, a fundraising opportunity to benefit the association. The Bike Rally and Cruise-In events will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. the third Sunday of each month starting March 18.

Michael DeFelice, a local farmer, is president of the association which was formed for the purpose of promoting local produce. The association is carrying forward the downtown farmers market concept that began in July 2016, renaming it the Brooksville Farmers Market. The association is currently accepting members and signing new vendors for the farmers market.

The mission of the co-operative is to connect local growers with consumers, restaurants and schools to promote healthy living and local produce. Membership consists of farmers and growers, consumers, restaurants, industry leaders and local businesses that share a common belief that local produce is integral to the health and well-being of the community.

For information, call DeFelice at (727) 422-3360 or visit or the Brooksville Bike Rally and Cruise-In Facebook page.
